Payne Family History
William Payne the son of James,
married Martha Sophia BRIDGES on the 2nd February, 1840,
in Flaxley, near the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, England.
They had five children.
Martha's parents were George, a shoemaker, and Anne. She was born
on the 8th June, 1818 in Painswick, Gloucestshire, England.
William & Martha's children were William, Richard, Ann, Henry
& James. William 
christened
5th May, 1840, died 13th November 1864 at the age of 24 years,
Newland, Chapel of Bream. I have no information about the early
family. Their last son James married twice. First to Emma
LUCAS, on the 2nd February 1876. She was the daughter of
Emmanuel, a farmer and Sarah. I have not been able to find her
death. James married a second time at the age of 57 years to Annie
MORGAN and they had one daughter.
Photos:- Top left I believe to be William Payne,
but this is only a guess. To the right is Annie Morgan & James
Payne on their wedding day. Below left is James Payne, it may
have been taken on the occasion of his first marriage to Emma
Lucas as half the photo had been cut off. Below centre is James
Payne in his sulky and below right is Annie Morgan in her younger
years.

Thomas & Mary Jane Morgan nee
Haines had five children, and lived at Symons Yat Rock.
I do not have the birth dates for either Thomas or Mary Jane.
Their children were Annie, John, Helen, Frederick and Sarah Jane.
Sarah Jane married the Rev Walter Wallace Richardson and came
to Australia to live. They lived in the presbtry which is close
to the Church of England Church at Clunes, Victoria. On the left
is Mary Jane & Thomas Morgan.
